Dear Makeway family,
We Shelby and Abby met in 2012, while finding our footing in the sports industry at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. Often being the only woman in the room, we navigated our way through a very male-dominated space and as a result, built up our ability to speak up, challenge the status quo, disrupt systems and advocate for those who felt like they didn’t have a voice. It wasn’t always easy but it was always worth it.
When we opened Makeway in 2020, we dreamed it could be a place for women and members of the LGTBQ2S+ community who felt under-served and overlooked by the sneaker industry. A place for everyone to feel safe, welcomed & celebrated. What we have now is beyond that initial dream and we are so deeply grateful for your love and support these past 4 years.
This Makeway x Nike PARTY-6000 is a love letter to you, the community who helped us build something special. This isn’t our shoe, it’s YOUR SHOE. And that’s what makes this project so special. We did this, together.
