FLORAL BACKBOARD
The full-sized, regulation backboard is made of hollowed wood and silk flowers. Originally showcased through The Makeway, the piece is inspired by the WNBA and celebrates women's sports and culture. The physical backboard was later included in Mallory Tolcher's solo exhibition The Fadeaway at Kamloops Art Gallery in British Columbia. The Fadeaway focused on women's basketball history through a series of handcrafted jerseys and fashion-inspired photography.
